Jake Pugh, Consultant

Jake Pugh is a consultant who specialises in providing advice on the development of business strategy, product development, marketing and sales. He also provides advice on change management and has, on behalf of clients, managed a number of major projects. These projects cover all aspects of business development including operational and IT infrastructure, outsourcing, risk management and the management of benefits realisation.
Jake’s career has largely been in the Capital Markets, where, for twenty years he has experience of trading and broking in the wholesale markets, including managing money within the Alternative Investment industry as a CTA, managing client money across the fixed income, equity, foreign exchange and commodity markets.
His consulting clients have included Barclays - where he worked between 1997 and 2003 on numerous new business launches and on a variety of business development projects. These projects spanned the range of underlying products offered within the Barclays Group. He was involved in the creation of Barclays Investment Management and worked closely with BGI on a number of projects.
Following this, Jake worked for ICAP as the Managing Director of the Futures business at ICAP where, he built a Clearing business in the US and Europe, established an integrated sales model spanning global locations, launched a Hedge Fund and developed a proprietary trading business. Jake was responsible for both the business and the management of all external relationships with Regulators, Exchanges, Clearing Houses and vendors.
Jake then resumed his consultancy career and has since worked with clients on a number of corporate transactions and carrying out strategic consultancy assignments. He provides advisory and business development services to Exchange and Clearing Houses, market infrastructure and e-commerce firms; he has also worked for some of the leading Hedge Funds, CTAs and money managers reviewing their product offering and operational model.
Jake holds a degree in Economics and Politics from Durham University. He stood as a parliamentary candidate in the general election of 1997 and also played professional cricket for Warwickshire.
