Sir David is a Senior Adviser to UBS AG. He is also an Adviser to IBCA Fitch and MDM Bank in Russia.

Sir David has previously been Chairman of Close Brothers Group plc and a Non Executive Director of Anglo American plc, British Telecommunications plc, GEC plc, J Sainsbury plc, Vodafone Group plc and Chubb Corporation in the USA. He was also a Director of the Bank of England and a Governor of the BBC.

But perhaps Sir David is best known for his long career in S.G. Warburg and in particular as Executive Chairman for fifteen years.
